Paul's work as a tentmaker is characteristically relegated to the periphery of his life and ministry in most texts on his background.
We will examine the biblical passages on the balancing and blending of Paul's concept of work in the New Testament. We will examine closely some general teachings about work in the first chapter and then delve in-depth into the following chapters through central questions to demonstrate the crucial role of work in his theology of life in Christ. 
To study Paul, we must not confine him to his theological convictions nor his preeminence in the early church as a spiritual leader. He embodied an example for laypeople to follow, for he incarnated the Gospel in the marketplace. He embodied his work as a tentmaker in his role as an apostle, weaving it into a beautiful fabric that covered the entirety of his life. And this is the supernatural tapestry of the Lordship of Christ, which integrates all of life. 
 
This study is written for the businessman or woman who may not necessarily become a tentmaker missionary in another culture, yet wants to apply the same principles, strategies, and methodologies to their own situation and workplace. As a matter of biblical fact, and as we shall see through this study booklet, the apostle Paul applies his thinking to the believers he ministered to, wrote to, and set an example for. Today, business professionals can apply this study directly to their own occupational work without needing to leave as a cross-cultural missionary. Business people are already missionaries right where they live and work.
